years of dedication
Our Chapter Story
Recent chapter directories cite 1924 as the Alamo Chapter’s founding year, although the historical record is still being researched. Across roughly a century, generations of women and men have sustained an important presence in San Antonio’s musical life and advanced the organ and choral arts throughout the region.
The chapter brings organists together for professional support, education, certification, recitals, workshops, and fellowship. Its work also connects congregations, students, teachers, builders, and audiences with the instruments and musicians that shape the city’s sacred and concert-music traditions.
This centennial is both a remembrance and an invitation: to preserve the stories of San Antonio’s organists and organs, and to prepare a new generation to carry that musical heritage forward.
