The Alamo Chapter AGO has been an important presence in the San Antonio music world. Together with the national association, we promote excellence in the performance of organ and choral music. We also provide a forum for mutual support, education, and certification of AGO members.
The Alamo Chapter is a dedicated group of organists under the leadership of our Dean, John C. Schmidt. Our mission is to support fellow organists dealing with a range of issues, including salaries, pastors, certifications, sponsorships, events, and much more. We aim to create a connected and involved community of organ professionals.
Throughout our storied history, many women and men have played an important role in the promotion of organ music in the San Antonio area.
Our monthly newsletter, The Tracker, keeps members informed about upcoming events, job openings, articles from our Chaplain, and news from the organ community. Published on the first of each month.
Interested in joining, performing, submitting an event, or partnering with the Alamo Chapter? Send us a note below. Every message reaches the chapter Webmaster, who makes sure it gets to the right board member and is answered.
Calendar items for The Tracker are due by the 20th of each month. Include the artist or group, location and address, date and time, admission, and whether the event is in person, streamed, or both.
